New Nikon Monarch Rangefinder - Released 1/12
« on: January 12, 2018, 05:59:53 PM »
Nikon released the Monarch 3000 Stabilized rangefinder today. From people that have actually used this rangefinder, they are saying that the 3,000 yard statement is definitely possible on high reflective. So far, about 2700 on game. I've used their VR rangefinders in the field and will attest that the stabilization should be added to every rangefinder, but have no clue how these will perform. Units should start shipping in early February.

I believe he could be referring to the ability to range 3,000 yards for $420 is one of the best values on the market. I will be able to test this product next week and should have more information at that time. I am hoping that the laser return time is as quick as they claim, but I can attest to the fact that the stabilization is something that you end up really valuing after using it once. I was ranging objects at 600 yards with stabilization and without and it was significantly easier to hold my target off hand, as well as keep the reading on the target.

For a little backstory on the new Nikon products, their new Production Manager came from another very popular optics company with a more tactical base, so we should see more long range and tactical products showing up in their lineup as a result.

It’s been a while but has anyone played with these enough to warrant a review or opinion?
People get offended at nothing at all. So, speak your mind and be unapologetic.
