So your saying. No barrel break in, 300 rounds before you cleaned it and no copper?

With results like that, I’m shocked Criterion hasn’t cornered the market!!!!!!

No barrel break in, 300 rounds before cleaning and zero copper. If I were you, I would be buying lottery tickets tomorrow.

I've been watching those barrels for awhile now. Great idea with the barrel nut. They also make them for Ruger and mauser. I know if I get one it will be like Domino's!

First patch has a slight tint of blue in the creases prob due to my brass jag and bronze brush

My old barrel typically looked like I was pushing smurf turds out the muzzle for first few runs

Gunslick bore foam

So you soaked it before you patched it?

Yeah, I used to think that until I bought a borescope, then I found out all those clean patches without a hint of blue, were just tricking me into thinking there was no copper in the barrel.

yes you fill the bore with foam, let it soak for 15-30min then I brush it with bronze brush back and forth, then wet patch of hoppes copper remover,  then dry patch, wet, dry till clean.  The bore foam removes 90% in the first wipe out. If really dirty I’ll repeat the bore foam

I’m not too surprised, Criterion’s are phenomenal barrels. I’ve had a 3 of them and they’ve all been accurate and easy to clean.

I bet there is so much carbon build up your not even getting to the copper.  I also have a hard time believing you have zero copper with no break in and 300 rounds.  I have used Benchmark, Rock Creek, Proof, and Broughton.  Taking the barrel down to no copper on the first shot takes some work.

So you are saying that Carbon is a seperate later than copper?

Like paint over primer?

I can’t get a dirty patch using 3 different cleaners and brushing. :dunno: but I’m happy

Yes I have found that you have to get carbon out before copper can really start to come off.
