I've got some of the 95gr .22 cal, 200gr .30 cal, and 230gr .30 cal bullets headed my way that are supposed to be here Thursday.

I don't have anything with enough twist to shoot the 95's, yet ;), but I'm looking forward to playing with those .30 cal bullets in my 300AX.

Where did you find these bullets in stock?

Ahhh grasshopper, you seek answer to very secretive location for source of bullets and if I were to tell you this top secret location I'd probably have to, well, you know the rest.  :yike:

Nah, I'm just messing with you, I ordered them straight off of Sierra's website.  :chuckle:

I'd really like to see what that 197grn could  do from a 28 nosler.

I worked with the 183 and 197 in a 7 RUM a while back and they're excellent bullets. In that particular gun, the two heavy Sierras out shot the comparable Berger bullets out to 1600 yards. I'll see if I can dig up the actual numbers that we came up with.

Yorke, did you by chance shoot either of them into you bullet trap thing.  With these things having a nearly closed meplat I'm curious how they would perform, my guess is they likely won't be a very good hunting bullet but they should perform very well at long range or even ELR.

Also, what twist did the 7 RUM have that you were shooting those 197's from?  My Blaser has an 8tw which maybe will be fast enough but I don't know that it has enough horsepower to lauch those 197's fast enough to make them outperform the 183's.

I got the .22cal 95 grainers and the 200gr .30cal MK's today but I guess I'm not getting the 230 MK's till tomorrow or the next day.  These things are crazy long and are going to require some very fast twist barrels.

From L to R  75gr Berger VLD, 95gr Sierra MK, 208gr A-max, 200gr Sierra MK

The pic kind of makes it look that way but the tips on these things are actually very good and definitely cleaner than the older MK's I have.
