Places to shoot near Graham/Yelm/Roy
« on: January 27, 2018, 05:22:14 PM »
Do you guys know any place to shoot around Graham/Yelm/Roy? Prefer BLM type land and not shooting ranges/clubs.

I appreciate the info!

Nearest place to there is going to be Elbe Hills, it's state land so you'll need a discover pass. There is also national forest land closer to mount Rainer, look at copper creek it has easy access from the road. South of that there are a lot of walking trails into national forest as well.

Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27:3

Only the shooting pits are a mess. Elbe off-road park has been doing there part keeping the wheeling and drinking down which was the cause of most the trash everywhere. Been very clean since last summer ever time I have been up there hunting trapping and picking mushrooms. Still some *censored*s on the road doing 40 though

Capitol State Forest.  There are areas that get used for shooting.  Also, there is a area that is setup like an actual range.  Sorry, don't have the specifics, maybe someone else on the Forum get give details.  BTW, not a bad place to hunt.

Capitol Forest has some good places to shoot. I recently found a place I can shoot from 100 out to 500 by moving around just a little bit, and then a spot to shoot 700+ yards. Do not go to the triangle pit, unless you like being surrounded by idiots while shooting.

Last time I was there some jackwads were shooting their ARs from crossed the road into the rock pit. No way they could see anyone coming down the road.
Who shoots rifles into rocks anyway?
