Is there no preference points for the bison hunts?

I don't think so. I think its more like a waiting list and the draw is the order you are on it.  Its been awhile so that may not be accurate anymore

The commission is currently preparing to vote on Prefrence points for Bison and sand hill crane. As of now you draw a number and get on a waiting list

Check the fees, they went up bigtime for this year.

No points, just a random draw currently. Yes the price went up but it is an awesome hunt. I drew it the first year I applied, it's better to be lucky than good. There is a new area opened up this year so between that and the fee increase I think the odds will be improved. It will be interesting to see what the odds shake out to be between the two units. I'm tempted to put my 16 year old daughter in this year. Not sure What we would do with a 3rd bison mount though lol. Good luck in the draw and let me know if You draw, I have plenty of info.

Ok sweet thanks guys. Originally I had been putting in for moose starting last year but 150 bucks per point is just to much for me to keep putting in not already being at max points so I cut my losses for the one year. Bison really interests me though

I hope they don't go to a points system.  It would be nice getting in on the front end and then it would just be a matter of time, but they would likely go $150 or more for a point and if it took 10 points, that would be one expensive tag once you bought the points and paid whatever the tag would cost in 10 years.

Good plan bailing on moose with one point, no way I would stay in there. I feel dumb enough staying in with 17 points. you may want to look at goat, no points there either.
