GMU 407 near Bellingham late archery hunting partner
« on: December 09, 2017, 11:32:52 PM »
Looking for hunting partner in GMU 407. I live near Bellingham and have access to private land for deer hunting and I have been scouting on public land for deer and elk. I have only been hunting in Washington for about 4 years but grew up hunting in the Midwest. I would like to find someone who can give me some pointers in hunting this kind of country and the big game here but more or less would just like to find someone to hunt with even if we are learning together.

For Blacktail deer read Byod Iversons "Blacktail Trophy Tactics 2"

Now is a good time to read and use for scouting. This time of year is a great time to scout. After a couple of weeks of no hunting pressure you can envision what late season in your area is like. Additionally it is much easier to see in the woods making scouting more effective. This is my favorite time of year to look for trees that I can attach my climber on, and do some lane clearing.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

I would also recommend Silver Arrow Bowmen and a club to visit/join. We have a 3D shoot coming up at the end of the month.
Find us on FB or the web... The site will be undergoing changes soon.
I also have a thread under classifieds, contests/orgs, Silver Arrow Bowmen.

Hey guys, just found this thread. Glad to see some other folks in the Bellingham area. I will be moving up that way in a few months from Tampa Florida. I plan to hunt Deer and Elk this year once I get there. Are you guys familiar GMU 418? Looks like 407 and 418 are supposed to be good hunting areas.  Dave
It's only trouble if you get caught. Otherwise it is an adventure.

I'm up in Blaine, i hunt archery or modern. 25 yrs old i spend a decent amount of time 407 and 418.  When the weather warms up id be down for some scouting or hikes once the snow melts. Or even some hikes down lower just for fun. Shoot me a message.

I hunt 418.  I have a hunting partner but wouldn't mind going out on a scouting trip or two if somebody wants some input, or meetup at Custer.  I shoot there regularly.  PM if interested.
