Thanks for the advice. Once I found out I drew I called 40 mile air almost immediately. Literally all of the headwaters were already booked. My guess is the guides lock those areas down with unwritten agreements with the air taxi services. I just thought it weird that headwaters of Tok River, Rumble Creek, West Fork of the Richardson and Dry Tok were all already reserved for air taxi by hunters. There’s only 40 tags for the entire TMA.
We are going to get flown into the Richardson and hunt the main drainage and hanging valleys along the main drainage. The goal of the trip for us is to spend some quality time and have a good chance at killing two rams.. Killing a 40” ram is not the priority for us on this trip so I’m not too upset about my first, second and third choice areas being spoken for 2 hours after draw results were announced.
