Wyoming back door?
« on: February 19, 2018, 09:26:54 AM »
Anyone remember the link to Wyoming’s backdoor, it has something to do the auditors office I think?  If your owed money they have a check or warrant for you?  I know, just have patience and wait, I’m just curious to know if this still works and can’t remember the link.

I’ve read on other forums that there is no longer a Wyoming back door.

You used to be able to check through the Wyoming Auditor's Office about payments. Now that everything is done via direct deposit, they don't have a "back door"... It used to be great knowing that you had a tag, but....Wyoming is still the first state to let you know you're gonna be elk hunting

The backdoor method stopped working a year or two back.  You’ll know Thursday, just check before the site crashes.

If you paid with a credit card how does your refund work?

Credit Card Refunds
REMINDER - REFUNDS
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department implemented a new method to refund fees to unsuccessful applicants. Unsuccessful applicants will have a credit applied back to the credit card used for submission of the online application. It is anticipated the refund should be available on the credit card within 7 to 10 business days after draw results are released. Landowners and outfitters who utilized the outfitter portal to submit applications will receive a warrant in the name of the applicant. Outfitters who didn’t submit applications through the outfitter portal will receive a credit applied back to the credit card used to submit the application. If the credit card was a pre-paid card, expired or cancelled a refund warrant will be mailed in the name of the applicant.  All warrants will be mailed with 15 business days of the release of draw results.

I'm holding a check right now just in case we get drawn.  My son couldn't get into the system from Kosovo, so I'm covering it.  We get drawn, I'll deposit it.  If not wait for refund before tearing it up.

With quota's of 10-15 NR tags in many units it's impossible to predict. Like when 8 buddies from Tennessee decide this is the year to apply for XYZ unit and when that happens...you get backdoored.

Yeah, that or Eastman's decides to highlight that unit in their MRS.
