Beetle advice
« on: February 21, 2018, 05:49:20 PM »
I have been researching beetles and have a question  I am hoping someone will answer. What kind of habitat do you use if you are gonna do elk heads?  How do you keep them from escaping?   And could  you post some pics of your setups?

Thanks
Mike Henne

Deerhuntr,
Look like you a little ways away from my place (Rochester, Wa), but your more than welcome to stop by anytime and take a look at my setups. I've had bugs for the past 5 years and do anywhere from 200-500 euros a year, and some for other taxi's....telling you that is not to brag but more along the lines of I've had ups and downs with the bugs and learned ALOT about what kind of enclosures, temps, humidity levels, ventilation...etc. They are by far the best way to clean skulls, especially when doing them in numbers but with that said they are extremely picky little buggers! Anyway, I have no qualms about showing some of the info and experiences I've learned over the years so anytime.
Good luck!
