Looking for area/land to hunt Turkeys
« on: February 22, 2018, 11:10:54 PM »
Hey yall,
I am kind of new to Turkey hunting (one bird) and I am looking for a place to hunt in Eastern Washington, or just information on how to find a spot. Any kind of advice or tips are very welcome!
Thanks.

www.realtree.com/turkey-hunting/turkey-hunting-nation/2017/washington-turkey-hunting Read this article lots is public ground out there. I hunt private land out in northern Spokane county when I hunt the East side of the state. I will be close to home this year to chase an eastern so I'm in the same boat as you looking for a patch of ground. Good luck lots fun chasing long beards.

Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27:3

Frankly, there is no way anyone can give you a specific sight to find turkeys on any given day in the future. There are spots that hold turkeys day in and day out but most are on private land and only the land owner could let you hunt there.

You just need to go over there and scout around a couple weeks before the hunt and find some birds and then identify the property as public or not. The best ways to determine if the place is public or not is by using one of the hunting apps or go directly to the county assessors office web sight and check out their ownership maps. Once you find some birds on public ground, return to your chosen area a day or two right before the hunt and relocate the flock and learn their patterns.

There are no short cuts, that's how it's done... that's why they call it hunting.

 :yeah:

Call the bios, talk to land owners. You should find some prime turkey ground an hour or two from WW.
