Idaho - Elk City B Tag
« on: March 11, 2018, 05:15:22 PM »
Finally making the jump from WA to ID, and was going to buy a Salmon Zone B tag, but I put it off for too long and they sold out. Now I’m looking at the Elk City Zone B tag, and wondering if anyone has any insight they would be willing to share? Thanks in advance.

IDFG site shows 238 Nonresident tags available still for Salmon B Tag?

It’s an error. When I went on to try and purchase, it didn’t show up as an option. I called the call center last night and they said they just found out that they have actually been sold out for a while now.

Wow guess I just snuck mine in then. Bought it 2 weeks ago. Sorry for the misdirection, carry on. I know nothing about Elk City.

Yeah, would have purchased mine a few weeks ago but was trying to make sure I could get my vacation time approved.

I find it hard to believe that the salmon tags went from 238 to 0 between updates!!
That’s very unlike IDFG if they really are sold out and they’re showing hundreds available...

I also tried to buy the salmon tag over the weekend. I got an email back saying it’s sold out from IDFG . If it’s not they have a voicemail and email from me and I’d expect them to switch If it was just a glitch. But all signs point to salmon B being sold out for 2018

I'm actually hunting a bit farther south than I usually do in the spud state this year, but, for those of you who didn't get one of the limited issue tags, don't sleep on the normal OTC tags.  There are critters just waiting for you to visit them, and, invite them home for dinner this Elktember in other Zones in Idaho.  Heck, you could hunt downtown Boise and probably have a better season that what WA offers you during the elk rut in SEP  :chuckle:

Yes, you’re correct. Just called as well. Sounds like the weekend call center had bad info.

Thank you for the offer, but we were able to get Salmon Zone tags this morning and stick with our original plan.
