The Caliber doesn't matter really, as I'm an archer. Whatever you have is good. Any idea of the cost yet?

If you make them for sale I may be interested as well depending on how they price out.

That's super cool.

I looked them up. It really cost $4k  :yike:

Thanks, it's always hard to gauge if what I think looks good other people will like too.
I bought during the initial 30 day funding campaign when prices were a little lower. For what it can do it’s still priced competitively. Dremel is supposed to be coming out with a laser cutter soon, it’ll be interesting to see how that goes.

Time for you to sell those and become a site sponsor. I'll take 6 please, GMU 572.

Thanks for the encouragement! Can’t say I was expecting to sell these… I was just playing with my shiny new toy. Let me take a closer look at site sponsorship and get back to you. What caliber shell would you want to use to mark GMU 572?

I have a Glowforge laser. Waiting for it about killed me, but it's awesome now that it's here.

I see they have several different models, which model do you have?  I'm curious, did you purchase this to do/make things to sell or is it strictly a hobby kind of thing?  Either way, looks like a very cool device.

Thanks! I have the Pro. I bought it for a little of both, I started a small CAD and 3D printing business in 2015 and have been able to slowly grow. I’m still learning how to use the laser. The only regular laser-ed product I have right now is an engraved leather pet ID tag for use on an invisible fence. Sounds like I should go for the forum sponsorship and not test the no advertising rule...
How about circles? can you make circles?

For walnut, I would need to be at about $8.50 each right now.
This cost includes whatever text you'd want on the coaster and a coat of polyurethane after engraving to make sure moisture doesn't get sucked into the wood.

For orders of 4 or more I can cut the price a little. I could do 6 shipped for about $45-$50.

I have some maple plywood in a similar thickness that would be about $1 less.

I also have a translucent orange acrylic ordered for a different project that might look really neat in this design. Those would be in the $5-6 range.

Would (wood... haha) you guys have any interest in having a raw engraved coaster and putting your own stain or finish on them?

Ignoring the circle comment... that's a topic for a whole different thread...

Yes, the walnut I used to make my coaster is plywood.

I just got home from Maine a few days ago after over two months away. The coasters were waiting for me and are very nice. Thanks Redstar, great job.
