SeaLion Removal
« on: March 10, 2009, 03:47:53 PM »
Well its that time of year again, will they try trapping and relocating again or just kill 106 of these *censored*s. I'm sure PETA will be all over it again.

Last year at Neah Bay I had a huge male sea lion grab a bass I was reeling in...he came halfway out of the water with it in his mouth...I pulled on it and actually got it out of his mouth...when i got it to the boat he was in pretty bad shape, he had big' o teeth marks in him...

I am sure they will trap and relocate - I just wish they could relocate with heavy lead colors - you know for tracking purposes.   :chuckle:

On the local news channel during the story about how much salmon the sealions eat, in the back ground there is a sealoin chowing down on a monster sturgeon. The effect on the sturgeon population is not even brought up. And why do they always have some eco-freak nut job give their opinion with unsubstantiated facts on every news story? So much for balanced news >:(

We could have them dress up like salmon. That way they could get up close and personal with the hungry sea lions in their natural habitat.  ;)

I see they killed one at Bonneville this week, a repeat offender.  The article said that any that cannot be "placed", will be "euthanized".  About time!!!

I have seen them on the Snohomish River and on the Snoqualmie river all the way up to Duvall.  Those rivers are not even close to the size of the Columbia.

Lets see... economy in the crapper... WDFW needs money... too many sealions...
Start selling permits! I'd put in for one!
Not sure what I'd do with it... I'm sure it'd be fun as heck to shoot one!
The more I get to know the less I find that I understand.

This is a Fish Program deal (I'm Wildlife obviously) but to this day we are in the freaking dark as to how those cages closed last year.  We even had a few FBI agents unofficially take a peek at the case, and they left scratching their heads.

And while it would be interesting to see a special draw for sea lions, you think PETA is angry now.. holy crap.
