I would buy an LJ in a heartbeat if I could find one that wasnt modified to death or had 200K mimes on it. Many in Colorado and Texas but hard to find a good one in Sea, Port or Spokane.

Both have there strong points but in my opinion for this state I would pick the jeep.  Idaho, maybe not.   I had ATVs up until 2010 when everyone I new was switching to UTVs, I looked at the cost of them and thought I could buy a good used jeep for the same money.  I wound up buying a new jeep so no money saved by me on the transition but I am happy that I went with the jeep.  I am also pretty sure I would be saying the same thing if I had gone the UTV route.  :dunno:

What I like about the jeep verses UTV:
No Trailering.
No transfer of gear to/from tow rig to/from UTV.
I can lock things inside the jeep out of the sight of prying eyes.
The jeep is quieter

UTVs do have a fun factor that the jeep can't match and have a faster, smoother ride over rough terrain.

Honestly, I think you will be happy either way you go. ;)

4 doors are great. I've had my JKU on the tight trails of evans creek and Elbe without body damage. And the extra room doesn't hurt.

Why would that be ? I know 3 Jeepers that flat tow their Rubicons with no ill effects.

:twocents: If your going to get into seriously wheel'n your jeep then don't waste the money for the Rubi because most of the items that drive up the cost of the Rubicon you will be yard sale'n to get better and strong.  Start with an X model and build it up.

If your wanting a capable hunting rig and not going to be senselessly rock bashing it then the Rubicon will be great. I can't think of a reason that you couldn't flat tow a Rubicon.  Its a jeep so it will see more than its fare share of towing.   :chuckle:
