WDFW raffles
« on: March 09, 2018, 07:38:45 AM »
Seems like the raffle sales kicked off pretty heavy for 2018? That’s a lot of tags sold only a few days in!
There is not enough wilderness left in the world, or in the hearts of men.

 If you are serious about winning one, that's actually the best way to do it, dump all your money in right away and discourage anyone else from putting a dollar in. :twocents:

The numbers of tickets sold doesn't mean a whole lot as it takes only 1 ticket to win.  I'll be in for elk and goat.

I'd argue that if I have 3,000 tickets and you have 1, I may have better odds - but you are correct - it just takes one.

Yeah nothing like the those with ALOT of extra cash loading up the raffles super early to give themselves even better odds.  Man I hate what these things have become, just another way for the RICH to cut to the front of the line.  I'll spend my money elsewhere, I wish they would institute a cap on how many raffle tickets a person could buy in each category.  In the end the State just wants the almighty $$$$$$ though.

I'm with you. I thought about maybe buying a few raffle tickets this year, but this makes me change my mind on that directly.

@Gringo31

Don't forget an obscene amount of luck in that scenario.

I agree entirely.

Honestly, I am probably going to buy one of those now just because of the rich guys.  I'd love to see myself or someone on this forum grab a coveted sheep or goat tag when someone else has dumped $10,000+ into it.

Agreed. I support the idea of the raffles for conservation $$ but I would also like to see a cap on tickets per person. Otherwise they're basically just selling wildlife, might as well be an auction tag.

Last year someone won the NE Big 3 on here.  I wish he would have followed up with more info later.
