Stew,

Those two yellow bears look awesome.  Hope you connect.  Looks like a lot of snow has cleared.  I wanna go!

Silk: "I missed a couple times on a bear in the Wenaha once...cost me a couple grand and I learned a new skill set!" Made me laugh; best thing I've read on the internet in awhile--except for maybe Scott's baby.  I like babies.

I did it. I outlasted mother nature. I beat her, crushed her some would say. Smoked her like a swisher sweet.

Sideways snow and sleet. Mother nature, I apologize. I was just kidding.

Crushing mother nature never works out so well...

Thanks for all the pics.  Keep at it.  Great for taking your daughter.

Well this morning was miserable, 40 mph sustained, snow , sleet, fog, colder than crap. Fog just lifted but not for long. Sun is coming through in places. That's it for me.
Had a great time getting a bear with my buddy. Shot at one myself. Saw others and just couldn't connect. I get the enjoyment out of all these trips, but have to say I'm disappointed in myself. I should have been able to make it happen with my experience and knowledge of the west Wenaha. I can't shake the feeling of I could have tried harder. We don't get to many chances through life so each one feels a bit more important ya know. Leaving a tag on the table, especially a predator tag doesn't feel good. I'm on my way out now and my brain is telling me every log and dark spot is a bear. Funny how when you love what we love so much you never want to stop.

You gave it more than most, and most wont fill their tag much less try as hard as you have.  Spending time in that country is well worth it, you’ll be back someday.

Goodtimes ! The weather for us was critical - need cloudy nites, cloudy days this time of year.   Sunny or foggy days resulted in zero sightings and then need low wind too with the swirling canyons and limited chance of a follow shot.  Had my chance at a huge one and muffed it with equipment malfunction combined with  bad luck hitting a limb but appreciated buddys getting me in the spot to be successful.  Next time I will just go when weather is likely to be optimal or hike in early on the snow when sunny days are less a problem.
