Binocular Harness Choice?
« on: March 26, 2018, 10:40:06 PM »
I just bought this Alaska Guide Creations Cub binocular/range finder harness system. Perfect fit for my Nikon Prostaff 10x42s, and Nikon Archer's Choice rangefinder. It has side pockets for my lens cloth and diaphragm calls,  as well as a back zipper compartment for my tags/licenses. It also has a elastic pocket on top for a cell phone. I LOVE THIS HARNESS for $103 and it should be perfect for bow hunting. What are you using for your hunts?

That but with auto lock buckles on the shoulder harness... IMO they should come with auto locks.

I have that one and like it a bunch.  The phone pocket is a bit underdesigned, but workable.  Other than that, no complaints.

I went with the Outdoor Vision harness. I wanted something that had a simple layout and fit closer to my body so I could throw a coat on over it if I want, it works great for my needs.

I enjoy my AGC bino harness, but I have one major complaint. Never thought about this as a practical issue, but I wore it this year for rifle season after striking out during early arch. I went to take a prone shot on a deer at 300 yrds and literally could not get comfortable. Had to waste precious seconds and completely remove the harness to get into a comfortable shooting position.

Not an issue with a bow, but worth considering as an overall hunting purchase.

The deer are exactly where you find them, and no where you dont!

I picked up the Kuiu Bino harness and really enjoy it.  Light weight, comfortable and fits my Vortex 10x50s.  I've shot my bow with it and it doesn't cause any issues.  I have not tried to shoot prone though.

A few years ago I quickly set up for a prone shot on a nice muley, 520 yds slightly downhill. Was in about 6 inches of snow and just couldn't get enough under the butt of the gun to get a solid rest. Luckily my bino harness was right there, flopped my Leicas out and shoved them under the butt. Settled in and smoked a 179" buck. They're not always in the way  :chuckle:
