louisiana Air boat hog hunt
« on: April 01, 2018, 08:41:24 PM »
I'll be heading down to the bayou next weekend to hunt hogs from an airboat. We will be hunting with Elite hog hunting. I have never been on an airboat before. If anyone has ever done this, let me know what your experience was. cool video

That sounds like fun, can you include a gator?

I've been I air boats but not hunted from them, a ton of fun. I've seen several hog hunts from vehicles, so I would suggest bringing a shotgun unless they have full auto rifles. I would pack a 12 gauge with a extended mag tube if you can. Also bring good ear pro, air boats are loud. Other than that enjoy it looks like a blast.

Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27:3

Where is this outfit based? I have clients in Louisiana and have been looking for a few things to do on weekends beyond the norm.

You'll have a great time. Hopefully the pigs are in the area when you go. It's not uncommon to shoot 30+ in a morning run. My old man has a airboat, when I was growing up we'd shoot pigs, fish, and occasionally deer. You should also try bow fishing from an airbag while you down there. A good driver can get the boat spinning and push all the water out of a pond. All the fish are just laying there flapping in the deepest part of the pond for a few seconds. It makes for fun shooting. I'll be back home "Hahnville" from mid june-july. PM me if you have more questions. Have fun!!! Oh.... and 12 gauge, 00 buck, large mag!!!!!!

We are hunting right near New Orleans, bringing several shotguns, handgun and ar. Hopefully bringing meat back too! I'm not sure if there are opportunities for Gators. Sounds like we are included a 2 hog limit per hunter and 50 dollars per hog after that
