I was just wondering do you think it was too low or high? Are you satisfied with the animals you were seeing there?
The only man who never makes a mistake, is the man who never does anything!!
The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.

I didn’t notice any decline on our trail cameras or during the actual season.  So I think it is a bit of an over reaction.

My guess is that when the 2017 harvest stats come out it will show that the modern firearm group was below their allotment for the Yakima herd because of the reduction in cow tags last year. I think the idea of completely doing away with cow hunting in the early season along with the shorter late season would have been an over compensation. I’m glad they are now suggesting to just shorten the early cow hunt instead of doing away with it completely.

Here are the "stats" to back up their claims

A windshield tour of the Yakima herd feeding stations is not an accurate method to determine herd population status!
