08 Raffle Buck?

I heard the 08 Raffle hunter took a small 2x3? And he was from Wenatchee?

Let me just say that without knowing the story, I can't blame him.  I would defnitely shoot a 2x3 10 minutes before dark on December 31.  Heck, what am I saying?  The biggest buck I've ever shot is a spike and I would've shot the 2x3 the morning of December 31.  But not a minute before that.

I herd he past on some nice buck looking for a 180+ but it never happened. . I'v just herd parts of the story, I don't no if it is true or not , but he was from around this area

I saw several this last season in several different areas, he must not have hunted that hard IMHO. 180 with that tag should have been a cake walk

Maybe he's just a deer hunter and not a trophy hunter.  Theres nothing wrong with that is there?

Having drawn three raffle tags, in two different states, I can assure you it's not as easy as one would think.  I spent over a month on both deer raffle tags, in WA and NV, and things still didn't work out as I expected (i.e. I'm going to drive right out in the "best" unit in the state and plow a 200" muley).

Anybody that thinks it actually works that way, hasn't got a clue (I can vouche for that first hand, as I was way off base myself with the first tag I drew).  And the year you draw a tag like that, you can't seem to get a break to save your life!  All you can find are 24" 3X4s and every guy you run into says they just saw three 210" bucks, just 15 minutes ago.  It'll drive you nuts if you let it!  Pretty soon you don't even want to stop to talk to anybody.

Anyway, you can't appreciate the stress of the situation until you've had one of those tags.  Don't get me wrong, stress me out all you like that way, but a 200" buck is no slam dunk deal on any tag!  And if you're going to hold out til the end for a big buck, sometimes it just doesn't work out?

It was NOT the last minute of the last hour of the last day!!! I believe it was taken during the general rifle season?
