Sitka customer service
« on: April 10, 2018, 03:57:46 PM »
I ripped the hood halfway off of my Jetstream jacket so I contacted Sitka and they gave me an RA to send in for repair. Rainy Pass repair does their warranty repairs, they are in Seattle. Fast forward to today, received jacket from Fedex, Sitka paid shipping both ways, jacket hood looks like it was never ripped, looks perfect 👍 they also sent  me a brand new Sitka hat for free... Now that’s some great customer service.

Oh, and said jacket was 3 or 4 years old and worn almost every day to work since new.

I had awful customer experience from First Lite after my first purchase with them and will only go with Sitka or Kuiu from here on out. Good to hear more good reviews for Sitka!

Sitka has been awesome on customer service for me. Replaced a couple pairs of pants that had loose seems and a pair of rain pants that I blew out on a sticker bush in New Zealand.

I have a set of Sitka Downpour rain pants and jacket that the welded seams have seperated on. I have had them four or five years and no longer have my receipt. Do you need a receipt to send them in?

If you buy Sitka second hand will they repair it? Or do you need some sort of a receipt?

I buy all of my sitka directly from them so they have record, not sure they checked it on any of mine tho.

Sounds like you might need the warranty on Sitka gear. A bunch seem to have had faulty workmanship judging from this thread. Bummer. Good on them for replacement gear being sent out though. I'm curious who has the best gear bc I'm about to stock up for out of state hunts this year. Any input? Im not one to want to be sending in gear for replacements. I want to buy once and be done for that kind of money.

Any gear is going to break down after years of hard use.  I personally run Sitka gear, and have abused it pretty badly in some circumstances with no need for any repairs thus far.  If you are looking for some of the most durable, lightest mountain gear money can buy Sitka, and Kuiu are both at the very pinnacle of serious hunting gear.

So Sitka gear breaks down after a few years, got it. I wasn't a big fan of the K brand when I saw it in person. I'll probably go cheap until there's another brand that comes up I like. Thanks for the info guys

Rainy Pass does the Kuiu repairs too. Kuiu just had me send it to Rainy Pass and then sent me brand new gear after 3 years though.

Hey Champ, ALL  brands could have an issue with some of their gear at some point, I own lots of Sitka gear and this is the first problem I have had, if you think you can buy gear and never have an issue with something you are dreaming .... you better keep buying cheap gear

They’re clothes, not a Stanley thermos.  We’ve all worn holes in our pants, shirts, and underwear and these are no different.  Well, except that they are manufactured with higher technicality for a unique purpose.

I would never have even thought about Sitka if it wasn’t for their warranty.  Way cool
