The wind made it tough this morning. Hopefully it dies down this afternoon.

9 inch beard and about a inch long sharp spurs. Also how long is a dressed turkey good for in the fridge. Wedesday would be our best day for April Thanksgiving, but not sure if I should wait that long. I can do it earlier if needed.

I butcher mine then freeze immediately then pull it out a couple days before cooking it to let it thaw out.

Heading to Stevens County in the morning for a few days of bird hunting and bear scouting.

Bird number two. The birds have been really henned up. But this mourning this guys came in all by himself. He gobbled non stop and came in on full strut. Not the biggest bird 7 inch beard and basically no spurs.

The late spring along with the poor weather on the opener resulted in the birds huddled together and not moving around as much. Plus when we zigged they zagged. We could hear them but no luck!  :bash: It all came together for me on day 3. There should be lots of birds still around so get out and have some fun. Thanks go Dale & Tara at Bearpaw. You can't beat their knowledge and experience. Great people and crew.
