Up until this year it seemed that everyone that put in for the Big Game Combo drew a licence.  I understand that this year is the first year that there were more applicants than tags.  But it shocks me that so many of us on the forum didn't draw.  I know the deer only tags have been harder to get for a few years now but the Combo tags have been close to 100% in years past.  it just seems weird to me that so many people didn't draw this year on the combo tag.  I could understand if 10% didn't draw due to the increase but it seems that close to 50% of the posts on here are un-successful combo's.  Montana must have had a massive increase in applicants for these licenses this year.

Last year deer combo had an 84% draw success.  And big game combo was 92%.  Looks like odds were a lot lower this year.  I didn't draw a big game combo last year.  But I did draw the deer combo this year.

Just talked to one of my partners.  He didn't draw the combo license.  Funny, I called the draw hotline to talk to someone about my issue and in their recording, it states that the left over combo licenses will go on sale May 7th.  How can there be any left overs if my partner didn't draw?  Man I hope that I get someone who knows what is going on.  Been on hold for 45 minutes now

Could be an elk combo.  That was the only leftover combo last year.

There are 3 different combos:
Deer combo
Deer elk combo
Elk combo

The way they use "combo" can be confusing. I have been told they say combo because it comes with other licences besides just your deer or elk or both

Successful on the big game (deer/elk combo), unsuccessful on the special permits.

OK, so a little clarification.  My partners were "not successful" for the combo deer/elk license.  My issue is that I show "not successful" for the combo deer/elk license, but then "successful" for the deer/elk license (released) and then no mention of my LE permits.  When we do the application, there is a question asked if we are unsuccessful in drawing, do you wish to keep your combo license or do you want to turn your combo back in for an automatic refund.  This occurs right after the permit drawing and then there is a left over combo drawing.  That is how my information shows that I was then successful on the deer/elk combo.  Confusing, but makes sense.

You have the tag.

If you were not successful it would display your deer elk combo in the unsuccessful section.

CALL FWP. What did you originally out in for? Just deer elk combo?

We put in for Deer and Elk Combo. A elk permit thats a long shot and a deer permit that is a gimme but required application.  Same as usual.

I have been on hold with FWP now for 57 mins. LOL

I had a buddy who use to work for MT Fish and Wildlife and he called for me to check on it because I was on hold for over an hour. Said I did draw. I still don't understand the new site.
