Article says he is a Kansas native. I know he lived in Zillah for a while. My understanding he still has family in the area. I know I have visited the barber here in town (Zillah) with my son the same one he has received haircuts from many a times when he was living here. He will be missed.

I had no idea - it even lists Zillah, WA in his Wiki Bio: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R._Lee_Ermey

RIP.

That was one of his hallmarks, and that is what made him a fixture as The Gunny.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

I still recall his radio ad of...

"LISTEN UP MAGGOTS!!!!"  :chuckle:

My late Marine hunting partner and his fellow Marine would watch Full Metal Jacket every year on the anniversary of the founding of The Marine Corps.
" America will never be destroyed from outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

RIP Gunny. Loved his movies and shows. He will be missed by many. He was also in Saving Silverman if any of your guys want to see a more comedic side of his work.

Uhm, why did it take ten months after his death to be buried  :dunno:
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

My rock,
He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.
