In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Semper Fi Gunny!! Full Metal Jacket and “Gunny Hartman” was one of the best things to ever happen to Marine Corps recruiting, I know it was part of the reason I was drawn to the Corps.

R. Lee Ermey, a former Marine Corps drill instructor known to millions of moviegoers as the sadistic Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket, died Sunday morning, according to his longtime manager.

Article says he is a Kansas native. I know he lived in Zillah for a while. My understanding he still has family in the area. I know I have visited the barber here in town (Zillah) with my son the same one he has received haircuts from many a times when he was living here. He will be missed.
God Bless,
Scott
