White River Hancock Tree Farm

Looking at the permits for Hancocks White River Tree Farm. Haven't been back in that area for probably 20+ years, just wondering what the deer population is like back in there these days. Not looking for specific spots just some info on what is in the area.

It has gone way down hill. The Indians kill everything with horns. I finaly stopped hunting in there a few years ago.

Thanks for the note, I had heard that was a problem in the area. I knew they were taking elk out as fast as possible just wasn't sure about the deer.

ive hunted it 20 or so times over the last 10 years. and the last 3 years i have not even seen a fresh track. my buddie who lives out there hunts it alot (walks in) and says he hasnt seen a buck in the last 2 years and hardly any does either.

Yep, the 2 legged coyotes have been slaughtering them.  Nothing new though.  Get used to the fact, they will do it until there's nothing then move to a new slaughter spot.

I baught a WR pass, mostly for firewood. The hunting isnt very good anymore. The indians have really hurt the populations in their and will probably own that property the next time it comes up for sale because they were just out-bid by hancock when weyerhauser sold the tree farm a few years back

Sounds like the Buckley Permit would be the way to go. Anyone know if they are all sold out?

With the Buckley Permit would that also give access to the land back in where the old King Creek Gate was. Isn't that now called Bridge Gate?

 That's one of the dirty secret's of the Cedar/ Green watersheds also, I've been bugging the State to add tags for those areas for years, particularly the Cedar as there are no tags at all. Seems the whole area between I-90 and 410 is hunted hard by the tribes. I am wondering if the same is true of the Snoqualmie, there has always been a lower than average sport harvest for that area also. There is some great looking country up 410, that should hold more deer that is really bare of animals....

We used to hunt The West Fork of the White River back in the 60's and 70's, there was plenty of deer back then. I knew the tribe was hunting the Greenwater but never thought they would be cleaning out the Timber land back in behind Bridge Camp. No different than the salmon and steehead on the Green and Duwamish Rivers, the tribe will make sure they get the last one swimming. Sounds like if anyone hunts White River now they better knock down the first legal buck they see. Not much meat on the yearling spikes but at least it had some horns on it.

Old Mule,  I know that has been a huge problem out in North Bend where the poaching has really destroyed that herd. We used to kill some huge Blacktails out of the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie during late buck. Now, you are lucky to see a doe up there. We have a 7 X 7 NON typicle buck that gross scores # 2 and with 22 5/8" deduction still fits in the top 50 all time heads. Plus, several that were never scored that would have made minimum B & C. Those days I am sure are gone out of the North Bend area.

ive never seen the tribes in the snoqualmie farm...but i have heard of them taking some deer according to loggers.

the deer population is down big time in the snoqualmie farm... that is mainly due to the insane amount of cougars in the area. the bears dont help much either.
