Houndsman Killed
« on: April 22, 2018, 08:44:14 PM »
A hound hunter down in Kooskia, Idaho was killed day before yesterday.  Jason Mills was a nice guy.  He trained two of my pups for me last summer on bears.  Was a heck of a good hound hunter, treed a ton of bears every year and a lot of cats over in that area of Idaho.  Looks like he was setting up camp, was removing his rifle from his truck and it discharged and killed him.  Dogs were still in their dog box.  Be careful out there, don't get complacent handling those firearms.  Sad deal, totally avoidable.   :'(

Was just talking about this type of incident to the students of our Hunter Ed class last week. Very sad. RIP.

Brings back a bad memory when I was an EMT.  Sorry for the loss.

I was with 3 couples that found him on Friday the 20th.  He was at a camp along Cow Creek Rd. NE of Riggins, Id.  A few more comments when I get back from a Dr. appt.   Very Sad

So sad for sure.

Hopefully others can learn from this.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.
