This was my second turkey ever and the first time I called one in with a mouth call. It was an amazing experience. I set up about 70 yards from the roost and started calling. Naturally the birds went the opposite direction than I had witnessed while scouting. It was pretty open terrain, I couldn't move without getting busted. They flew about 300 yards to the bottom of a canyon and across a river. I thought it was over. It was about 10 hens and two toms. The toms weren't responding to the call but the hens were yelping like crazy. I started making a bunch of cuts and to my surprise the hens started running at me and flew back to my side of the river! Within 5 minutes they closed the 300 yard gap and the big tom started fighting my jake decoy at 20 yards. After four shots and a 100 yard chase, my first tag was filled

I'm pretty sure my decoy took more BBs than the Tom on the first shot... I have switched to a tighter choke now.
This is my first post so I don't know if I attached the photo correctly.
