Hancock will be having the best blacktail hunting in the state here in acouple years!
Why do you say this???  Do you think the 2 point rule will help that much or is it something else?  I wish it was like it was back when they could run dogs in there.

People say they wish the wildlife biologist agency involved . Why would you ever want that there killing everything off . Why you think this state is so messed up

I totally agree that WDFW is failing us as hunters.  That being said, I do not believe that you fix problems by not actually fixing the problems.

And if Hancock was working with the state and had their own wildlife bios, I could see a point in what they’re doing.

The Kapowsin bulls official score was 391 5/8 when measured at the sportsman show and the State archery record for Cascade Roosevelt Elk. A lot of people say the state's biggest bulls roam in those woods, gotta be one of the lucky 8 to draw a tag after spending  $375 for the chance....
Did it gross over 400? That thing is a beast!

That tag drives me nuts.  How on earth it's legal for a timber company to do that is beyond my limited comprehension.

It is private property so they can dictate if you kill something on their land or not. No different than if you owned property that elk lived on and let your buddy shoot a bull but not me. Its your property, it's your choice.

^^^^ This.

Not sure why this is such a difficult concept to grasp...

Most harvest reports I see for the west side GMUs seem to have about half of the harvest being spikes.  That would be a large bump to the population in the early years, until the pressure is shifted effectively toward the 2 pt and larger.

Hunting in there is terrible..  No deer and your chances at an elk draw are miserable.  You have better odds buying points out going out of state for that matter.  $375 buys a lot of points and gear.  I'd save your money.  I hear the security guy is tough to deal with too..  Not worth it, Green Dot and Vail are definitely better options.

I will never consider hunting rights as a privilege, it is our God given right.  But if the land owner wants to make restrictions to help the herd and be smarter than the wdfw, I'm all for it.  There is a reason that hancock has one of the best elk hunts in our state, the other reason is no native hunts take place on the property in the kapowsin gate.
That's why the biggest bulls are a direct result of tribal management right now?

Ha, please. The tribes would ruin that elk herd in no time if they had access

Thats why the  three fastest growing elk herds in the state are tribal managed?

I'm sure the mucks will make up another reason try and get access into Hancock. Then it'll be the green river all over again. :chuckle:

It'll be just like their made up BS 1 Male species deer/elk per member per year. That's a joke trying to pull the wool over on that one. :chuckle:

Anybody probably would wipe the herds out if they had access.  If WDFW said elk were a free for all and have at it, I'm guessing 5,000 trucks would be in there within 20 minutes.
