I'm sure the mucks will make up another reason try and get access into Hancock. Then it'll be the green river all over again. :chuckle:
:yeah:exactly.  I know a lot of guys that will be hunting elk in there if (when) they do get access or buy it.  It's just a matter of time before they own it.
“In common with”..... not so much!!

Hancock will be having the best blacktail hunting in the state here in acouple years!
Why do you say this???  Do you think the 2 point rule will help that much or is it something else?  I wish it was like it was back when they could run dogs in there.
Absolutly for that reason!

Won't happen until the cougar population gets reduced. Every where we go we find cat sign. We put eyes on 2 last year and we have no problem getting them on trail cams.

I saw two last  year as well, both on the road..  there are a ton..

Like posted before.  No need to pay the $375..  Your odds of getting pulled for a tag to chase 400 class bull is less then if you paid your points for another unit or went out of state..  I wouldn't bother.  Its crowed in there too.

Hunting in there is terrible..  No deer and your chances at an elk draw are miserable.  You have better odds buying points out going out of state for that matter.  $375 buys a lot of points and gear.  I'd save your money.  I hear the security guy is tough to deal with too..  Not worth it, Green Dot and Vail are definitely better options.
Vail is definately NOT a better option.  I've hunted there every year they have had the permit and each year the quality of bucks has gone down.  The first year of the permit i saw two 6x6 bulls and a 6x7---haven't seen anywhere the quality of that since.  Poaching up there is rampant.  I've seen way more vehicles heading up into the area after dark as i'm leaving then i've seen hunting up there during the day.  Ran into the Weyco forest patrol a couple months ago wood cutting and asked them about what the Company is doing about the poaching problem and his response was "nothing..they know it is going on but won't do anything about it.  They won't allow us to carry firearms so we won't approach anyone up here after hours"...what's the point of having someone patrolling the hunting area if they can't approach "hunters" ?  not that i am blaming them as there is no way i would approach someone after dark---i've actually been driving out at dark and have had people shooting less than 100 yards from me--well after dark and they know i am driving  by
beer---it's whats for dinner

I have personally seen a set of 429 sheds that a farmer found while brush hogging the edge of his field. It was east of I5 but less than 10miles east. The guy will let you shed hunt all you want...but you cant take them off the property.

roosevelt sheds? that is massive
You know your hunt went well when you had a shot that was unethical and you never took it, even if you never got your bull.

I guess they would be considered Cascade Roosevelt because they are east of I5 but only just. This farmer picks up several over 350 every year.  He only just started shed hunting more because he got tired of running them over with the brush hog.

yeah, i would not want to run over elk sheds with a brush hog, those things would destroy the blades
