20 weeks old
« on: April 07, 2018, 04:38:45 PM »
So Rey was 20 weeks yesterday, Rey on right.  Had her mom out to the island for the day.

I don't know if anyone else has kept a pup from their litter, but man, what a handful when mom and her are together. It is just play, play, play.  I'm glad we are kind of living in two places right now as it is easier to work with them alone.

Rey finally got to swimming yesterday. She followed Amber out after a couple of sticks and then fetched her own stick a few times.  She has waded a bit up to now and I haven't wanted to push her.  Glad to get her wet though.

Do you hunt them?

Amber lives to hunt ducks and Rey will be.

Not really, I eek out action for the dogs on Mergansers, Goldeneye, Buffles, and the occasional puddle duck.  Now that we have a place in Sultan, I'm hoping to get a bit more action for the dogs.

I might have more available on Lopez this year though as I got a woman over there interested in duck/goose hunting and she has more contacts than I do.

Plenty of geese by the Lopez airport causing issues.
The swamp area at the North end always has some in it.
We hit one landing there a couple summers ago.  Dented the wing pretty good.
