And that’s from 2015. The new ones make more power.

Well I believe the new 3.5L has more horsepower and damn near as much torque as my old 2003 f-250 with the 7.3L diesel. That is way more power that I should need amd with a far quieter engine/exhaust package. For me the choice is simple.

Josh, is it available with a diesel?

I can only report what I've seen and heard    My friends have given up their eco-boost over towing issues.

 :sry: if that offends anyone.

Wife has just over 60,000 on her 2014 3.5 eco boost. So far no complaints other than a faulty transfer case.

Not offended. I was just replying to your low end torque comments. I’m surrounded by them day in and day out. They had some issues early on with intercoolers. Caused a flutter/shudder type feeling almost like a slight misfire. Ford came up with a fix for it and that was that. We deal with very, very few engine issues now. I have a forestry company with a fleet of ecoboost powered F150’s that get the crap beat out of them in the woods and they’re not having issues. I have lots of construction companies who bring their trucks to me. They beat the crap out of them and don’t take care of them well at all and the engines are solid. I’ve driven them. You can’t deny the power they have. It’s crazy to drive a v6 with that much power.

Really?  Why would you not want to drive a 5.0?  If you buy a v6, you should also get a plaque to hang your balls on.

I have the ecoboost and would never buy another one.  I've had two of the 5.4L and they were much better motors for overall use.  I pull my Bayliner 175 (a farely small boat) and gas milleage is garbage.  Just got back from a freeway drive to Portland and back, can't get better than 17mpg to save my life on cruise control.  Tranny is already starting to slip and the breaks get hot and burn through pads when i tow my boat.  My 5.4L consistently rated better on gas milleage and brake wear.  I can tell you from my experience of driving 5 F150's the ecoboost is the by far the one I've been the least happy with.  I'll never buy another one.

BTW the aluminum body new F150's get just as good gas milleage with the 5.0L..

Just my experience, by no means am I a mechanic.  But I have 118k on this one and put over 200k on my 5.4's..

All my friends who had the "eco-boost" after towing for a little bit, got rid of them and went with the Dodge Hemi model.

Just like chain saws,  smaller required more RPM's which in the long run wore out faster.  Larger saws with low end torque lasted longer and got more done!

If you just have to have a Ford,  the 5L is the only choice you've offered on list.
