Interested in this too. With all the wolf kills it’ll result in some lower numbers.

The Norse Peak Fire probably killed more goats than the wolves did throughout washington state.

I'm not looking to argue - I'm sure you know much more about it than I do.....

I'm just surprised that Mt Goats would be all that susceptible to fire.

Did the fire trap them, or...????

Thanks,

Dan

I guess my sarcasm and reference to other threads wasn’t blaringly evident.

I doubt there were many goat kills in norsepeak fire. Maybe the aftermath of loss of food, but fire directly itself, I doubt it.

I’m told that the RMGA’s volunteer opportunities will most likely be during the Olympics relocation. No surveys that I’ve heard of.

I think that would be dumb luck if a wolf could kill a goat. :dunno:

If there are that many goats there should be more tags then, since the WDFW themselves says one tag for every 100 goats basically.

We have 27 goat tags now.  Seems close to your math above.

An average of 2900, so maybe they owe us 2 for a total of 29??

Seemed like a sloppy number basically their count could be off by as much as 1000. Which counting goats can't be easy to be fair.
