My daughter needs help live catching domestic rabbits.
« on: June 03, 2018, 10:05:46 AM »
She lives in Seatac and about two weeks ago about 8-9 domestic rabbits started hanging out in her neighborhood.  She and a couple of neighbors would like someone to live catch them or help or teach them how to live catch them so they can be rehomed. Any information so she can contact someone would be appreciated.

Feed in a live trap seems to work. Pellets or Timothy hay or something like that. The other thing that works is a salmon sized fishing net. Rehoming feral rabbits is tough. If they have a little bit of wild in them, they won’t make good pets and They’re expensive to have neutered or spayed.

Domestic rabbits are easy to trap.  You can use carrots or apples.
Re-home ..................... not suggested, not a good idea.  I'm thinking re-home to the pot  :EAT:

That's what I was thinking too.  She really likes bunnies and wants to have the humane society pick them up once she captures some of them. I didn't share my feelings as I knew she'd send me home.

As a kid I netted some in our landing nets.  They were in the net a matter of seconds before they chewed thru the netting.

Badhabit,
The Humane Society will adopt out Bunnies.
I would think they would go fast, if they aren't too Waskally.  :chuckle:
Good Luck! (I too have had good results using my seldom used Salmon Net.)

Not always a bad idea. They spread disease like wildfire.
