To some folks, the sight of an animals skeleton cabled to a tree may have ticked them off.  :dunno:

:yeah: My guess is that they did not appreciate finding that.

What time of year was this? Doesn't appear that the time stamp is correct, just curious why the dog has orange but they guy with the rifle doesn't.

Yeah the time stamp is off.  They came by my camera on Feb 10th 2018 around noon.  I picked up the camera on May 1.

And yes, I've got some more fun animal footage that I'm still going through/editing.  :)

I've seen that guy around but don't know his name. I'll ask around. Did you show pat? I bet he'd know that guy

I believe I seen that gentleman while I was scouting in the canyon last fall.

PM me if you figure anything out.  And yes I asked Pat -- he didn't recognize them but suggested I post here.

No help with an ID, but at the very beginning of the video it sounds like the guy says "we should take that...oh, they locked in on there".

Vizslas aren't all that common.  That should help narrow it down a little too.

Good luck getting your cable lock back those things aren't cheap.

Yeah, I can't tell if he says "we should take that" or "would you look at that."  From where he's standing, the former statement doesn't seem to make sense.  He would have hardly been able to even see the cable at that point.

All this whining about a cable left on a skeleton, in the woods for god knows how long and someone takes it. I would of too. If it's left there tied to a baiting station, who's the worst of the two ? You tell us.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

I don't care how long someone leaves something tied to a tree or in the woods.  If its not mine I don't have the right to take it.  If you take it you are a thief.

Don't really care either way on this one because i can't figure out any reason for someone to lock a skeleton to a tree why not just tie it to tree with cheap cord,no one is gonna steal the carcass. As for stealing it,I'm not convinced that that was any motive at all.Was the camera on the carcass to view bears and cats?If they didn't take the cam post the pics lol.

:yeah: I don’t get the purpose of the cable.  I would not have taken it though.

Wrong....
I would not take that cable because I could deduct that someone would come back for it with the camera and the carcass.  But if something happened to you and you weren’t coming back you are leaving derelict gear eventually someone would be picking up your garbage.
An argument could even be made that you shouldn’t be cabling up a carcass. It’s disrespectful to the elk.
You may find your thief and he might tell you to stop cabling up animals carcasses.
Lead em if they're running.
