If it starts with "Remington", stay away.  They're rifles in the last 20-30 years are pure garbage.  Just my opinion.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

I would never hope to discourage someone from buying the rifle they prefer.
Having said that, Remington is one of the very few manufacturers of rifles I would not even consider, unless it was an older higher end custom shop specialty rifles.
Remington quality is sub-par is to most “affordable” rifle manufacturers.

But they will kill dear.

Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

No sweat guys ,I like honest reveiws ,thoughts all that are good stuff ,I know quality controll at Remington went way down in past years. You kinda take a chance of getting something that shoots really good or really crapy lemon.
Still not sure which way I'm gonna go yet,I will post it up when I buy something .I've had a few 700 rems and I might just do it ,for price and see what I get.

One more opinion:

My sons and I all shoot Savage rifles since I bought mine.   Couldn't believe the accuracy.   Unreal.

I also know folks who really like their Ruger Americans and Howas.

The low end Remingtons have been straight up disappointments for the two guys I know that bought them.

Buyer beware and good luck with whatever you buy.

I have to agree with Bobcat on this one. The trigger is fairly tight but my wife and I still get good 1" groups at 100 yds.

So I did buy a 783 rem even after many bad reveiws,i guess I'm just not that bright.
Anyway right out the box it seems to have a very good trigger. There bore sighted  scope was a joke and junk.
I've lock tite the scope bases, painted the stock, beded stock, and adjust the trigger down even more than then factory.replaced the scope with a cheap Bushnell with better eye relief.
My expections of this rifle is to beat the brush, cheap truck gun ,that will stay on target out to 500 yards.
Caliber 7mm rem mag for 299.00 at cabelas the only other budget gun I could find in mag calibers was a tc compass so caliber I was looking for made me buy.
I will post pic later today .

Best of luck to you.

Rifles are kind of like trucks that way...........    Ford, Chevy and Dodge will all have their followers.

I hope you end up liking it.
