Sorry for your family’s loss.  They are definitely family members just for too short a time.  A buddy at work almost lost his dog between Sun night and Monday.  A big super dog German Shepherd that comes to our office about once a week for the last 2 years.  He almost ran himself to death on Sunday he apparently got heat stroke and almost died in the night.  Owner just thought he was tired but the dog apparently doesn’t know when to quit.  He was in the dog hospital Mon through Th AM but is OK now.  He even cane by the office.  I know my buddy was really scared he almost let the dog run himself to death.  I’d have never thought about that at this time of year.  Sorry for your loss but don’t blame yourself, those are things that just don’t cross the mind.  Things happen and sometimes there are just accidents.  You’ll see him again someday, just sucks to lose him too early.....Take Care remember the good times

Sorry for your loss Trophy, dogs sure do become just like a true child. A few weeks from now i will unfortunately be going thru the same thing as we have made the decision to put our almost 13 yr old black lad down just before Memorail Day. ive know this day has been coming for about a year now but that certainly doesnt make it any easier. She is hands down the best dog ive ever owned, both hunting and family wise. Again sorry for this devastating time and my your boy rest in peace!

Sorry for your loss man.  That’s aweful.

I really appreciate you sharing about the moldy grass.  It’s something we will keep an eye out for at our place. It’s frustrating because you never know about something like that until you or someone you know experiences it.  You may have saved a number of dogs in the future by sharing your story.

Dogs truly are family members.  Losing them is like losing a part of yourself.

Hooked, I'm am sorry to hear about your lab.  Please tell us about her a bit and post pics. We had to have our female lab put down 4 years ago, rips your heart out.  I had the chance to sit down with her and we each had a beer together right before we took her in.  Enjoy the next couple weeks to the fullest with her, let her eat off your plate, or sit on the couch, what ever has never been allowed.  I feel myself regretting the little stuff that I used to bitch about.  Take care
