One full gallon of beef weighs about 7.35 pounds. Most bear skinned and halved with shoulders and legs removed will easily fit in a 150 quart cooler by putting the legs into the rib cage, a 150 cooler is 37.5 gallons. I thought the barrels look like 50 gallon size and it doesn't look to me like that bear will fit into one barrel?   :dunno:

If you break the bear down enough it'll fit into the barrel, but it'll be a 400 lb barrel  ;D

That bear is 6’ tall standing on his legs!  When did we start measuring bears from nose to foot??

He’s a good bear, not trying to take away from that.

Holy moly.  I've yet to lay my eyes on a 400# spring bear.  That'd put him into the 500# range in the Fall.

Regardless - Good Luck!

I stand by the 200# range.
And I am standing next to you saying the same.

People over estimate bears more than fish for some reason.

3 foot barrel 6 foot bear reasonable tummy thick pelt 200lbs

And I’ll double down for the fries and a milkshake.

Here’s some perspective. These are true behemoths. 20+” skulls and 6.5-7.5’ tall.

Just goes to show you that bears just AREN’T that big.

Yes...there’s been some fatty apple eaters over the years...but mostly on the east coast.

Average mature sows are 135 with boar being 165.  Sorry if you want them bigger.

I’d put this bear at 225-30.  Couple more weeks of eating donuts though and who knows...
