Rifle Beding any good ideas

I like devcon metal plastic myself. Job weld will work. Toilet bowl wax has been the best release agent I’ve ever used. Cheap too

90% of bedding pro’s imo are using devcon or marinetex.  The marinetex worked fine for me but you can’t go wrong with the standard - devcon.

With a light coat of rem oil

I've had good luck with Kiwi shoe polish as a release agent combined with some of the kids' clay to fill any voids in the action. I haven't glued a gun yet, but I was a little nervous on one or two of them.

I got one I'm going to "bed" with no release agent.  It shot real good until I had to pull the action from the stock.  I found out that the previous owner bedded it with no release agent and I decided when I returned it to the stock I'd do it the same way.  It was about the same as a glue in but also using the action screws.

Here's the pic , not as good looking as I expected,but it did take the slip out,i will clean up with dreamel tomorrow.
This is my first attempt so not good looking,but will work.
Glad I took it apart cause I think it might of been glued if I waited any longer.

With JB, I let it sit overnight and pop it loose after 12-14 hrs, that seems about perfect for the temps in my shop.isn't going to lift or change shape but I can still clean it up with a sharp knife and drill out the hole for the action screws.  All I've bedded is the front/recoil lug but it makes a positive difference. 

For those factory stocks that I notice vertical stringing, sand down the contact points, dremel out the recoil lug area so I get more epoxy in there, then bed it.  Reduced the fliers to almost nil and turned a totally factory 700 into an excellent shooting rifle, same with two Savages and a Ruger.  Some people frown on the finish but I think it looks great when done carefully, plus you can't even see it unless the action is taken out

in that pic it weighed 16#’s. Other than the butstock the chassis isn’t heavy. It weighs 17.2#’s with the new barrel

I didn't say you couldn't hunt with a chassis rifle. I said it wouldn't be practical. I stand by that, but maybe it's how a guy chooses to hunt. I wouldn't ever want to hunt with a 16+ pound rifle. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Thought it was.  I recently had the chance to purchase a, nearly new, XLR Carbon Chassis for SA Rem 700 for $550 but I cheaped out and passed on it.  I think I screwed up and should have jumped all over it.

They say you don’t need to bed chassis but I did bed mine
