Apparently Idaho follows hunt wa and they just put out a public statement today that explains why the process takes so long in Idaho. Washington on the other hand does things in the order of priority and with only 4% of us having strokes waiting for results we are down the list. Red alert a local orca is missing and presumed dead so we just got moved down on the list won t be until July now.  I'm sure the whale just ate to many oxycotin mussels and is on a relaxing trip.  Now that I think of it they've been serving alot of shellfish in the NRB cafeteria hmmmm

Got an email from wdfw but it was about the dumb trout derby. Talk about a downer after getting my hopes up.

Rather than a witness, why don't they just be transparent with all the public?  There is this secrecy with when the draw is taking place and when a witness is asked to come in that I simply don't understand.

Put an update in big bold letters right on the website a daily status update...then when the draw is done, post a link to every detail and piece of information out there...what computer, contractor, program was used for the draw...any audits or certifications done...list of all eligible and selected applicants...on and on.

Can anyone explain why that doesn't happen in this day and age?  That would be transparency.
Everything you said here is a great idea except the name part.Because the name of people in the draw doesn't need to be public for any reason. In fact the draw should be off the wild id number and not name at all.  :twocents: The wild id number of the applicants and the selected ok i can go with that.
I would say the name part is most critical...knowing who ends up with tags ensures no funny business.  If you don't want your name published, don't apply for public resources.

Really,Some of the anti hunting groups would love to have this info.Which group do you belong?Hunters get harassed enough as it is and they don't know who ALL are hunters. At 1 job i had for a short time i had to hide the fact that i hunted just to stay long enough to find another.
