I'm stuck behind a desk and you jokers aren't posting any dead bear pics.  What gives?   ;)

We had just stopped for a second to watch a hillside and I  saw him right away. Eating blackberries standing broadside. I quickly got a  shot off and he was rolling down the hill in  a flash. I had busted his shoulder so I took another poke and got him through the heart. Pretty guy, weighed 120 at the butcher's ( no hide, guts or head)

Second bear. Missed one a couple years ago :(
The first  one ( in my avatar)  was my first ever harvest of a game animal. He was a big boar, 10 years old per wdfw , 300 lbs or so, with head and hide. I shot that one with my .243. This one I used  my 30.06 .
We love bear meat. We like to get at least  one a year if we can .hopefully I saved a calf or fawn,  or two!

That’s awesome!  You saved more than a few calves and fawns.
And they are great eating. Enjoy it!

cool grats all.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

I got to poke a hole in this guy on sept 1st   30 minutes out of the gate.  He was spooked by  something and ran right to me. By the time I got a shot he was at full speed running right at me at a mere 20 feet.  It was more like self defense lol. After the arrow hit him he turned back but only made it about ten yards before piling up in the buck brush he had come out of.  Not the biggest but is my first and I couldn’t be happier to have him

I don't always shoot big mule deer, but when I do, it's with a bow tech!
