Tent cot

Anyone use one? I was looking at them at cabelas today and they seem like a good way to go

I have two. Hold off on Cabelas. You can get a better price on Amazon.

I use them for short two three day scouting trips. Too heavy to pack around. But if you can drive to a camp spot they go up in five minutes and down in ten.

Figure on a extra pad to sleep on.

I stretch a tarp out and set up under that gives some dry dressing space.

They do get a little condensation on the inside top. A small battery van helps a lot.

I throw up a tarp tent over my cot, works great for drive in camping. I wouldn't use it in heavy rain or snow. It works for my needs goes up and down quick and easy.

The tent cots have bug screens all the way around. Great for kids too.

I lived in one for a summer in high school. Thought it would be cool to sleep outside with the dog every night. I loved mine and it lasted a few years afterwards with more irregular use. I never threw a tarp over it and it always kept the rain out. I used to always leave the end the dog slept in open so I never had any condensation.

How hard is it to get in and out? It looks like you have to move around some to get out of it. I want to try this cot but the door on it looks small.

They aren't bad to get in and out of. Sit into it butt first then swing your legs in. Just opposite getting out. They are convenient for single night or quick camp set ups.

I should add, you definitely a sleeping pad for them. There is a cross bar that will put a serious knot in your back otherwise. So long as you have a pad they work well.

Ok I have a pad that I think will work. I just hope that the dude in the picture does not come out of the cot like in the picture!! I have seen his Turkey camp set up in NE wash and I want nothing to do with him.
