If they should be made avail for everyone, why not did everyone one apply in the beginning? Should only be made avail to those that purchased the MS deer or elk application to begin with. Or no one would jump in a purchase an application, and just wait to buy the leftovers.

If you paid up front you would obviously get a tag, IF there are leftovers who cares who buys them. My point is there are guys the last few years that dont even draw a deer tag but then there are 2800 tags leftover that could have been used for special drawings.  Elk is a different story but still 130 leftover.

Why thought is why did they not apply if they wanted one, selling them over the counter, might l ave some without, maybe they should allow the none drawn to have two weeks to by a leftover since they originally applied then last week of August open up to all

I believe the first draw gives MS elk guys the option to opt out if they drew for a special hunt.  It seems the easiest way to handle the unsold MS tags in August is have a second draw where applicants provide a CC number or check to apply.  If you are drawn in the second draw, you bought it.

Tried to buy my MS deer tag today.  WDFW phones are all jacked up in the licensing division.  You get a recording that the number is no longer in service on the two lines indicated on the website.  Had to call the main WDFW main line and get transferred in.  Once I went to the store to turn in my transport tag and purchase the MS tag, the clerk ran into the same problem, and went through the same method I did to talk to someone in Licensing.  That department doesn't know what's up with the phones.  They think they work fine.   PITA!  At least ninety minutes wasted doing a transaction that should take five.
this is why i dont get my deer or elk tag until after all is said and done with draw and leftover purchases.I don't have to call,i can go purchase at any time my multi tag whether drawn or not because i don't have a deer tag to turn in.  Since i do this and im sure there are many others out there we should be able to purchase leftover tags at home on the wild site.  :twocents:

Require the $$$ up front when applying, this weeds out those who aren't serious. No left overs!!!
Don't like that idea
Reasoning? If you're willing to pay for it when you draw it you should be willing to pay up front. Another option would be to give 30 days to purchase if drawn. Again possibly 2800 deer guys and 130 elk guys this year are paying the full amount but cannot use it for draw options, kinda BS if you ask me! I agree if you pay up front then leftovers should be available to everyone!
If they pay up front? If they pay up front they would be able to purchase,Difference is that if they dont even put up the 7,50 for the app then why should they be able to purchase same as the hunters that did pay the 7.50 but were not drawn? NO WAY!  IF NO APP NO BUY.

My theory was assuming that those who really want it would be paying up front but I see your point Oh Mah, so my thought is flawed a bit but still think pay up front would be best.  :twocents:

For deer they should just make it an over the counter option in the first place. Just take the money on the front end. Anyone who wants one ends up with them anyway

If I remember right there were over 10k apps for 8500 tags, yet 2800 went unclaimed.

that's what i was thinking. Now that being said problem with over the counter anything these days is the antis trying to buy stuff up.Use the grizzly tags for example if it was over the counter until all tags gone at 10 k each the rich anti groups can come in buy them up and not even have the obstacle of a draw.I know i know they probably don't care about these multi's but this is why i don't agree with any over the counter tags for any limited hunts.  :twocents: Now if you want to talk about something like a sportsman's tag where you purchase all hunting tags permits at 1 time for deer and elk multi season for around but under $500 total. Then i'm in.
