Colorado results
« on: June 03, 2018, 08:49:34 AM »
Results are scheduled for this week.  Good luck to those who applied.  I’ve got a feeling we are going to need a little luck on our side with the significant increase in apps.

I'd be nice if it were Monday but I'm not holding my breath for anything before Friday.  4th season bound for me.

I’m in for 3rd season again.  If I draw, I’m hoping for some snow and a repeat of last year.

New applicants will have no effect on applicants who currently have points.  Unless it's a second choice tag or a 0 point unit.  Beauty of a preference point state.  Sounds like it's started, I'm seeing chatter.

nothing has changed with their draw system as far as how tags are awarded anyways.  It's a preference point system.  If I have 4 points and you have 0, then you cannot draw a tag before I do for a first choice permit.  Second choice hunts don't use points.

I get that and really like that system. I was referring to the change in the monetary cost associated with applying which has driven up the number of applicants. 100% draw odds last several years if you put in for a 0 point unit as your first choice may not be 100% draw odds this year which is where i'm at.

ah gotcha.  Yeah I agree.  Though I don't think it's near as doom and gloom as others.  I know about a dozen people who jumped into CO this year juat because it was cheap but every one of them juat did points because they have no clue how to tackle a hunt.  There will be big ramifications in the near future though.  That is certain.

Ya I’m nervous, we’ve drawn our tags every year but once for the last 20 years with no points. We will see how much this change hurts us...

that will be heart breaking if it creeps.  I'm in the same boat but we draw on a second choice.  I'm burning on a 4th season this year though
