Buying a new rifle
« on: June 07, 2018, 11:31:19 AM »
I'd like to buy one of the new Savage Arm Storms in a left handed model, 30.06.  Where's the best place to buy a new one?  Thanks for any recommendations.

Agree with MAGs... I did a bunch of research and found the best deal for my Storm was at BUD's.  They're real nice shooters Machias.

Is it worth the higher price, over a standard 110 with accutrigger?

Was that target at 500 yards?  :chuckle:

Yaaaaa, now that I think about it... was more like 600  :chuckle:.  That was the first day I took it out.  Bore sighted it at the ranch then hit the range shooting at 50 yards and broke in the barrel (adjusted the scope reticle as I was shooting).  Once really close to center, I moved the target to 100 and what you see are the two three shot groups at 100 yards.  Upper right, first group; center group, second three shot group after a few clicks of windage/elevation.  Sweet shooting little pop gun.

Not sure.  The Storm has accutrigger also, fluted bolt, stainless steel barrel, and adjustable butt adjustments (length of pull pieces you can add)... Have never touched one of the standard 110s so I honestly don't know if the Storm is any better or worse.

When you're touching, even with a 3 shot group, that is sweet. I've only had a couple rifles do that..

Awesome, thank you!!  My wife is buying this for me.  She's very happy I have been able to send her 2 links that get a little cheaper in price each time!  :)

Well, since we're helping you shop (grin), might I suggest a Sig Sauer illuminated rifle scope for your new boom stick?  I put one on my Storm and absolutely love it.  The price is reasonable for one of these also....
