back country instant pho
« on: June 08, 2018, 11:02:08 AM »
I dehydrate my own meals mostly, but as I sit here at lunch, there is another option for a very easy, store bought, light, quick cooking meal i thought I would share.
I saw these at costco..6 pack, 8 bucks
https://www.costcobusinessdelivery.com/Snapdragon-Premium-Vietnamese-Pho%2C-2.1-oz%2C-6-ct-.product.100318565.html
they come in their own plastic bowl, with noodles, small seasoning packet and small oil packet.  take everything out of the bowl and put into a zip lock or vac bag if thats what you cook in, pour in the right amount of boiling water, let sit for a minute or 2, stir everything up and you are ready to go.  throw in some jerky flavor of your choice for protein and a sriracha packet for good measure and enjoy

i think you'll be pleasantly surprised..i've had worse pho at a restaurant, but this obviously isn't going to replace my pho cravings for when I'm at home and can go out to my favorite spot.  i figured it was worth a shot because costco *usually* doesn't sell junk.

I've had similar bowls from the grocery store and most of them tasted pretty decent.

I bot these. They are not bad, got some spice if you use all the packets. For those that have to watch their sodium intake these are not for you. Over 1000 milligrams of sodium.
