Congrats!  Glad to see some success after feeling a little disappointed myself.

Did you call him in that close, or did it just walk up that close.....?

That had to be EXCITING.

He was working down a road towards me (I didn't know it) and there was a tree across the road. The wind was just hitting the back of my neck when I got to the tree after being on my face on the way in so I paused so decide if I would keep going and push it or drop to a lower paralleling road and see if the wind was better. I decided to go to the next corner and then drop down and when I went towards the top of the tree where the branches were lower, he had started feeding around the tree so he could continue to feed down the road. He didn't see me so I quietly flicked off my safety and scanned for cubs. I could feel the wind on my neck so knew I didn't have much time. I chose to punch my tag! Excitement came when I was looking for him in the fading light and all but tripped over him  :chuckle:

Yeah for sure! This year wasn't the greatest year for Bear. The berrys really haven't started blooming yet. Hopefully August will be better!

Congrats!   Nothing like a little brush whacking for a bear surprise.
