New Sitka Waders

One hunder bucks for the addion of a zipper.  I got an email today from Macks PW that had them available here:

The $849 pairs without zippers were gone fast.  I love the pattern and love that they are made in the USA.  I hope my Cabelas breathable waders hold up for a long time to come though.  No need to have 2 pairs and no desire to have to spend that much for the ones that I would prefer to have.

Once I win the lotto I can buy a pair along with a Duckworth Boat.

If they had an unconditional life time warranty I could justify the price. Personally I've never had waders last through the 3rd season, whether they were $100 or $350. No thanks, but I don't have a social media crowd to impress either.

Just think about how many pairs of these waders a guy could buy if he didn't buy a 3/4 diesel pickup to tow around his 16ft aluminum boat? Or if he didn't have 6+ $150 duck calls hanging on his lanyard? Or a trailer full of Dave Smith decoys?

I guess it is all just perspective. Maybe a guy hunts 70 days a year and fishes another 70 days and wants to be comfortable? Idk, plenty of dudes in the fly fishing world buy Simms waders- they aren't much cheaper.

Funny thing is they are all about the same.  Simms doesn't have a special neoprene, same factory in China cranks it all out.  Same YouTubes on how to patch holes, too.

But I'm on year 4 of my Simms G4 pros, and if I get a leak, I can send them to Simms and they'll fix or replace them for me. They are also the most durable Gore Tex waders I've ever owned. Do 1000x better in blackberries and brush than any heavy duty neoprene wader on the market.

Everyone is like wow on the price.  Duck and goose hunting is big money.  When you go back east, most of these club guys are paying $5k - $15k a season to hunt these upscale clubs.  They have money.  A comfortable wader with a lifetime warranty isn't a bad deal.  I usually go through 2-3 pairs of the breathable ones a season.  Unfortunately the pro-staff guys don't get the deal on them this year.  If you work at a store that sales them, you probably will have a pair purchased.  They can't make them fast enough unfortunately.

I will purchase the zipper ones next season.

$850 is chump change for a lot more hunters than you'd think, especially here in WA.

I think they look like a solid option once my trusty old neoprene Cabelas waders fail, way more versatile and you won't sweat your balls off early in the season.

The pattern is cool and Lacrosse boots are a heck of a lot more comfy than the generic rubber boots on most traditional wader brands.

The thing I've come to enjoy most about my Sitka gear is how sleak it is. No more super puffy, bulky parkas and layers. Just a system that works with your body in a wide range of conditions.

 I like some of their pieces and have found them to be worth the price based on how much comfort they add to a hunt.

Waders are a pretty important piece of waterfowl gear. I don’t skimp on those and I sure hate having wet feet. I’d probably be a buyer eventually but the boots are a size too small for my feet. Rogers it is for me.
