Croc Skull has arrived!
« on: June 16, 2018, 04:29:02 PM »
Very happy to have received the croc skull from my 2016 trip!  the one photo has a small fork horn Whitetail skull next to it for scale.

Hippo should be here in the next 3 weeks or so.  The Croc mount will follow a few weeks after that.

Can't recall if I posted the feet from earlier.  Apologies if this is a repeat.

They are very spooky.  It is a belly crawl through the grass and set up prone or on sticks to get a shot.  I took a neck shot so that the skull was not damaged.

We have video and the collage shots are captures from that.  mine is the one walking on the right, and the other collage is before, moment of, and immediately after the shot.  There is a little bit of "long arming" going on in the group shot.  it was just over 13 feet long.

thanks.  The bullet did damage the rear right portion of the lower jaw, but it is not bad.  I'll just display it from the other side!

That's amazing. Love the skull and the feet. You have some beautiful mounts there! Looking forward to seeing the hippo skull!

Wondering if you ate any of the meat off the croc? If so how was it? Anything to compare it to taste wise?

Here is the skull on the hippo.  The skin mount is what is coming in the next few weeks.

The croc was the worst meat I have eaten.  It got bigger as you chewed it.  It was tough and extremely bitter.  The cook did not want to cook it but I convinced him.  The big ones are old so i think they are lousy.  The smaller ones i hear are good

Hippo is great.

Very cool Rob...  I see Poppy likes them too.  I like the food with the Halloween candy bowl on top of it.  Steph said that seems like something Rob would do!
