Unless you are severely disabled you cannot hunt elk with a crossbow in WA. I have a disabled card from the state but it alone does not allow me to hunt with one and I probably wouldn't anyways because they are not accurate and the arrow does not have enough weight to penetrate unless you have a perfectly placed shot. You can get a cross bow permit from the WDFW with a DR's note stating you have a "Upper Astrenamy" disability.I know of a archery hunter in the Yakima area that hunts with a cross bow, and he has to renew his permit annully with a Dr's signature. Not any Disabled Hunter can use a cross bow.
